Dia De Los Muertos

Today is November 1st. When I was exiled in Catholic school many moons ago, it was called All Souls Day. Now that I live so close to Mexico, I have learned about the festive tradition of Dia De Los Muertos. Here's a link to a website about the Day of the Dead which includes photos.

My take on it was to come up with yet another art quilt. (I am jamming on that sewing machine!) I scanned the colorful art quilt to post here and while I was working in Photoshop I decided to play around and converted it to a black and white image. Then I thought about printing it on fabric transfer paper and viola! So now I have a new t-shirt to wear for the festivities.

I'll be posting again after the Houston Quilt Show.

Hi Sharon,
I like how the conversion in Photoshop makes it look very woodcut-ty. :-) Did you use this one to enter the Lawndale retablos auction?
Cheers,
Wren

Great quilt and it makes a very handsome t-shirt in black & white.
