Journal Entry #16

eva, originally uploaded by e14studio.

Today I stopped in at The Menil Collection and had the opportunity to see the exhibit of Eva Hesse Drawings. I included some of the notes I wrote and clippings from the brochure. Here's what else was written about her work

The exhibition comprises approximately 150 works on paper, including fifty never before displayed working notes and drawings, examples of reliefs and test pieces. By juxtaposing Hesse's drawings and sculptures, the exhibition presents an exciting revision of the conventional interpretation of the working processes of this artist.
I was able to appreciate her work on a different level now that I saw her notebooks and sketches.
