We saved A Turkey's Life!

pierogi, originally uploaded by e14studio.

The "chef" fixes turkey at Whole Foods™ for a large population of Houston families. A week before Thanksgiving, he comes home from work every day smelling like onions and giblets! So when it comes to Thanksgiving at our house, we shun the bird because he says he's seen enough turkey already. This year we had pierogis. They're polish dumplings that can be filled with a variety of foods. This is comfort food for me. My Aunt Pearl makes the best pierogis this side of Poland. She gave me this recipe over 20 years ago. Yum!
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I spent the day out in my backyard where we kept the fire pit lit. I thought of all the things I take for granted for which I am most grateful. Most of all, I am grateful I married a man who cooks as well as he....(somethings are meant to be private!)... LOL!

Oh, I love pierogis too! Most of the year we have Mrs. T's since I don't have a recipie for them. My baba (grandmother) made them, but my mom refused to. Once a year, a local church makes them and then we indulge!
