Happy New Year!

Poly is so excited about 2010. There's a few things happening at e14studio to tell you about and we hope you'll be visiting the blog often to keep up with the art projects.
First of all, as you see in the video, I bought an iMac. I've been using macs since Steve Jobs vacated his garage for mass production but I've never been more excited about a computer. It's going to take some time to play with all the programs and learn the updates. Speaking of programs, I will be starting out the new year on Monday by taking this class with DJ Pettitt.
I've spent the last few days gathering digital photos so I will have plenty of images to experiment with while I immerse myself with this online class. I will definately share my progress here in the next few weeks.
Since it's a new year, I got out the gesso jar and started covering pages in a old book. When I'm not playing with computer images here on my spiffy iMac, I will be dabbling with paint, markers and mixed media (including fabric) to fill pages in an altered book.
Looks like we're off to a busy year at e14studio. Come along for the ride. Poly just loves being your host.

Sharon,

HI, How are you? How is Poly Ester? How is your I Mac? I bought their lap top, but have not used it yet. I hope you remember me. We traded ATC cards. I had my neck fused in March and things have been very rough. Lots and lots of pain, but there was lots and lots of pain before that.

My career as a CPA is pretty much over because typing is very difficult. Little repetitious movements with my hands causes pain. BUT what resulted is a good thing.

I read your blog about loving to sew. Well I love to sew. I started sewing when I was 4 yrs old. I was not allowed to use a machine, but I made beautiful doll clothes using patterns and tinny tiny stitches. Then I started sewing for myself.

I went to NYC when I was 26 with a one way ticket and $150.00 to go to the Fashion Institute of Technology to become a fashion designer. But I had no money and had to work. I became afraid I would never make a living as a fashion designer (I didn't have very much self-confidence and that is a very long story as to why). So I moved into the YMCA and went to Baruch College, the business college in the City University system of NYC. I became a CPA.

I can no longer knit and have returned to sewing. I have decided to create a line of baby and toddlers' clothes and art quilts. I am also developing a small scale CPA business to help pay for these endeavors as well as paying the bills.

You and Poly Ester are such an inspiration for me. I love Poly Ester and as a consequence I am doing a set of dolls to represent the physical therapists who have helped me the past three years. I had a knee replacement two yrs. ago and now my neck fusion. I am doing a doll to represent each therapist and I will place them in a small box with tables on each side of the box. When we come in each person is assigned to a table. Sunday I found bright colored pony tail holders which I am going to use for their mouths. I got so excited at finding the right material for their mouths.

I am hoping to go to the Houston International Quilt show this Fall and I would be so honored if I could meet you and maybe take you out to lunch if you are available. Give Poly Ester a kiss for me and tell what a hugh fan I am.

You are an amazing person and thank you for sharing your life. Would you be interested in helping me develop a business tag to put in the children's clothing and a paper tag to put on the clothes. Obviously, I would pay your fee. It would be so increatable if you would be interested in helping me with my dream. (I only hope I can afford you.)
