Let's get real

I've been known to pick up copies of those glossy magazines showing Artist's Studios and throw myself in front of the art bus because there's no way on this planet that my workspace will ever appear here.
I give you the present, un-alterated, real messy, current state of the studio.
(the corner in my garage I use for the messy, collage work).

When, I mean WHEN did you sneak into my studio work areas and take pictures???

(Thanks for sharing!)

agreed that creativity does not lurk in a organized studio for me either. magic happens when things are next to each other out of chance and start me off in a new direction .... .....for me anyhow.

LOL - YOU GO GIRL! Mine is definitely more like yours than "those" other ones. I love that you have more pens than Staples:) I mean if we cleaned up after ourselves we wouldn't know where anything is!

Keep on Keepin' On!

Perfect! Thanks for sharing. I apologized once to a friend about my messy space and she said, "it wouldn't be you if it wasn't messy." And, she meant it in a nice way. I think some of us just create better in our organized chaos. Thanks again for sharing.

DITTO!!! Mine looks like this also...
I long for one to be neat and well organized...have even taken days..weeks..months to get it like that (of course no art was produced during that time!) ONLY to have it right back to the creative chaos within moments....Got to love that you can actually go to the right pile of things to find exactly what your looking for!! LOL....
LOVE YOUR STUDIO!!
I do believe that they should have one realistic studio in those magazines....ONE ....JUST ONE!???? LOL

Just goes to show that you are too busy using your studio to take time to clean it up. That is the mark of a true artist. Or at least some of us like to believe that, myself and my mess included.

How refreshing to see anothger creative space that looks just as tidy as mine LOL

Occasionally I tidy mine but rapidly end up with only 6 square inches to work in - and that's when I work best LOL

"throw myself under the art buse"... haha! I totally understand; my studio area looks exactly like this, too.

You have made my day...and everyone who has commented took the words out of my mouth..I was going to say the same thing..

Worse for me...now get this excuse..I live sort of in a jungle and the spiders love these messes to build their homes. I have to slap everything to get the spiders out before I can create.

Are all of you going to be at Houston

Good for you! It's in your garage? Mine is in the house! I live in my studio, which just happens to have a microwave and a bed. Yeah, a bath, kitchen etc. Once the studio table is full, I move to the kitchen table. When that is full, I move to the living room. And that's why my house looks like it does. . .that's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
