Illustration Friday topic is flight.
I have a lot of drawings when it comes to the subject of flight. I seem to enjoy drawing at airports; it passes the time and relieves the anxiety I feel when it comes to flying. Here is one I drew while waiting to board the plane.
This drawing reminds me of how many flights like this I have taken since moving to Texas from my hometown, Niagara Falls, NY. Back in '78 I came to Texas and planned to stay a short time. Then I decided to take advantage of the job market and get some experience. I planned to go back to NY one day once I had the work experience. But I'm still here in Texas! That said, I usually take at least 1 or 2 trips back to NY to visit family every year. When Dad was sick, I was traveling back every chance I got. So it's been 27 years (WOW!!) Figure about 2 trips per year that's 54 flights and double it because I always change planes and it's about 108 flights on average that I've made commuting to my hometown.
If anyone in my family is reading this, it sure would be nice if you came to Texas once in a while for a change!

I love people watching at the airport.
Oh, and funny thing - my parents are originally from Buffalo, NY. Small world, huh? We don't get to visit as much anymore, but when I was younger we'd go up there every summer. It was great!
This is funny.. lol upstate newyorker myself.. gee. .dont you miss the ADK? nice ill.~!
Thats a great sketch of the plane. I also like to take a sketchbook when I'm at the airport. Aside from teh bad airport food and magazine stands, It's a great way to pass the time when your flight is delayed!
I think it's only fair you mention your big sister has visited the most. I look forward to visiting again soon, with or without Mom. (I think she's reqady to give in!) All I ask readers is for a few days on a beach or a water retreat!
