My inspiration came from Henri Matisse. In 1944 he completed 20 compostitions made from cut paper for a publication Verve. A book titled JAZZ contains all his pieces and handwritten text. It's mah-ve-lous!.
As for my piece, I wanted to give emphasis to the typography. The "blue dancer" appeared on the page after many attempts with a brush dipped in ink. I simplified the figure in Illustrator and voila!
